Make A Wish Eastern North Carolina

For over 35 years, Make-A-Wish® Eastern North Carolina has served all medically eligible children who reside in the 49 counties east of the Orange/Alamance county line — serving the Triangle to the coast. Our goal is to reach every eligible child in our chapter area and grant their wish. Since our inception in 1986, the organization has granted more than 4,640 wishes*, at zero cost to the families we serve. We operate solely through generous donations of individuals, corporations, organizations, and foundations and with the help of more than 250 volunteers, including our Board of Directors.

The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center

The mission of the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is to conserve and protect all species of marine turtles, both in the water and on the beach. We accomplish this through the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sick and injured sea turtles; public education regarding the plight of sea turtles and the threat of their extinction; and learning opportunities for students of biology, wildlife conservation, and veterinary medicine from around the world. A nonprofit organization, we view our work as a privilege and are honored to work with these magnificent creatures.

Hope Renovations

Hope Renovations offers a pre-apprenticeship training program for underemployed women and gender-expansive folks designed to give them the skills to confidently enter the trades or enroll in apprenticeships and continuing education. We also complete small to mid-sized home repairs and modifications for adults 55+ and those living with a disability, so they can stay safe and independent in their homes. These jobs provide our trainees the opportunity to apply and practice their skills in a real world setting.
